Our Weekend at the Valamar Girandella Collection Resort: A Must for Families with Food Allergies
3 minLast month, we decided to go on a short family trip and chose the Girandella Maro Suites, part of the Girandella Valamar Collection Resort. As parents of a child with food allergies, it is extremely important for us to find an establishment which offers exceptional accommodation and entertainment, but also pays particular attention to special nutritional requirements. The Girandella Valamar Collection Resort did not disappoint – to the contrary, it exceeded all of our expectations, it certainly is one of the best hotels for food allergy sufferers.
First Impression Matters
From the moment we arrived at the Girandella Maro Suites, we felt such a warm welcome. At check-in, the hotel staff asked us all about our child’s allergies so that they could receive detailed information. They asked us a series of questions toso as to ensure all meals were prepared according to our needs. This first communication was already reassuring and it showed us how serious they were about their guests’ safety.

Food safety is the biggest concern of any parent of a child with food allergies. At the Girandella Valamar Collection Resort, safety came first. Every meal was carefully controlled and prepared according to our instructions, and their approach to the nutritional requirements of their guests with food allergies was extraordinarily attentive and professional.
What impressed us the most was their practice to double-check the ingredients. Every ingredient passes strict controls to ensure that there are no hidden allergens, and the product’s label is finally shown to us as well. The kitchen staff is trained and aware of the potential contamination with allergens, which is why they take particular steps to prevent it.
In order to provide us with additional reassurance of the safety, the restaurant manager came to talk to us herself. She explained that guests with food allergies receive all their meals directly from the kitchen toso as to prevent contamination. The restaurant manager was extremely kind and attentive, and she made sure that all of our requests were taken into account and that the meals were prepared with the utmost attention.
This personal approach was extremely calming as our son was able to enjoy delicious and safe meals, which significantly alleviated our concerns and enabled us to relax and enjoy our holiday.

Apart from the extraordinary service when it comes to food preparation for guests with allergies, the Girandella Maro Suites also offer amazing activities for children. Our son loved the playrooms, swimming pools and creative workshops. The team in charge of entertaining the children was fantastic, always full of energy and thinking up new fun ideas. Children can participate in various activities, from sports to artistic projects, which kept our son engaged and happy throughout our stay.
