Given the location on the Adriatic coast, most hotels in Rabac offer excellent views of the Adriatic Sea.  What else is better than starting your day on the terrace of your hotel room and enjoying the stunning spectacle of the sun rising over the sea? Don’t miss this opportunity!

Rent an e-Bike and Head to Labin

After having a rich breakfast at the hotel, you can rent an e-bike and head to Labin while enjoying the scenic view of the Adriatic if you choose the coastal route – through Ripenda Kras, Plomin Luka and Štrmac. It’s such a good option if you want to explore the beautiful landscape while hanging with your family or friends.

Otherwise, you can choose some of the guided tours that will help you explore all the hidden corners of the east Istria cycling haven. It’s up to you!

Visit Park of Sculptures Dubrova

Before visiting the old town of Labin, you can visit the Park of sculptures Dubrova, a unique outdoor art space known for its annual Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium. The park features a wide range of sculptures that visitors can discover for free while having a walk through the scenic landscape.

It is a dynamic experience which emphasises the true beauty of the Istrian landscape, attracting both art lovers and nature enthusiasts.

Have a Stop at Velo Kafe

After visiting the Park of sculptures Dubrova, you can stop at the Velo Kafe coffee house and restaurant, one of the places boasting the longest tradition in the area. We recommend trying the “krafi”, a traditional ravioli-shaped dish with a filling which combines different kinds of fresh cheese, raisins, sugar, lemon zest, and sometimes a bit of rum.

You can have them as a main dish with chicken stew or as a dessert – flambéed in caramel sauce or fried in oil.

Labin’s Old Town Sightseeing and Historical Exploration

Certainly one of the most beautiful picturesque hilltop towns in Istria, known for its rich history and cultural heritage, Labin’s mediaeval old town is a mixture of cobblestone streets, baroque buildings, and interesting art galleries.

You can spend the whole morning wandering through the narrow streets, but also enjoy numerous views from the old town. We suggest you visit the Labin National Museum and discover the rich history of mining, historical events related to the proclamation of the Labin Republic (1921), and a memorial collection.

If you are more interested in the coal mining history of Labin and Raša, that too can be explored through centres that offer specialised experiences and tours.

Olive Oil Tasting at Negri’s

Istria’s liquid gold – olive oil

One of the key ingredients of local Istrian cuisine is, without any doubt, the internationally recognised extra-virgin olive oil. It has a very long tradition, since the old Romans planted olive trees and produced oil in the area. Today, tasting olive oil made by several Istrian producers is a must.

While in Labin’s old town, don’t miss out on a visit to one of the most stunning historical buildings, the Gastro-Art Gallery in Negri Palace, that is home to the exceptional Negri olive oil, wine, and liqueur. After olive oil tasting, you can buy all the products you liked since it is also a shop – and enjoy the beautiful works of art that decorate the gallery.

Have a Dinner at Black & Blue Steak House

When you come back to Rabac, perhaps you will need a bit of a break – but after that, we suggest you try the most exquisite steak that you have ever tasted. Did you know that Black & Blue is among the top three Croatian steak houses?

You will not be disappointed with the excellent choice of the meat and of course – the skills of our chefs and the ambiance of the house. Bon appétit!

We hope you enjoyed the one-day itinerary of Rabac and Labin and its surroundings. Of course, there are still more options of things to do in Rabac while on holiday. Would you like to share your favourite activities with us?
