How to Spend a Late Summer Day in Poreč: Sun, Swim, and Sunset Dining
Poreč in late summer is perfect for relaxing, swimming, and enjoying sightseeing. You will encounter fewer crowds, milder temperatures, and be able to enjoy golden sunsets, even with some new views. Have we mentioned that Poreč is one of the most stylish Istria coastal towns?
Slow Morning Vibes in Old Town
It’s late summer, when everything slows down, the nature and the rhythm of the town. To have a perfect day, we suggest you start with a 15-minute walk along the sea promenade from the Marea Suites, Valamar Collection and have a coffee in the Old Town. The town’s charm really shines even more when things are calmer. You can have a walk through the Decumanus Street, a well-preserved historic Roman road running through the Poreč Old Town. It is a landmark for visitors with a lot of shops and cafes. After that, you can step even further into the past and visit the famous Euphrasian Basilica and admire Poreč’s rich heritage.
Midday Chill at Beat Beach Club, Marea

Enjoying a sunny late summer afternoon by the Adriatic sea with a refreshing drink and the perfect view.
Beat Beach Club is the perfect midday retreat, with an upscale, laid-back atmosphere and dreamy sea views. You will enjoy all shades of perfect blue colour while having a cocktail, or maybe a light lunch. Lounging by the pool or swimming in the sea – the dilemma is on you. While enjoying the sea view, we had some delicious cocktails, precisely the Mai Tai, the best one we have ever tried, so it’s definitely our recommendation for a relaxing midday at the beach club.

Refreshing Swim at the Pical Pool

A perfect spot for relaxation – enjoying the Pical infinity pool with stunning views of the Poreč old town on the horizon.
In the afternoon, why not visit the infinity Pical Pool? It stretches over 500 m2 and it has 50 metres long lanes. You can swim while admiring the panoramic views of Poreč’s Old Town.. It has unbeatable photo options, so if you are a fan of social media, this is your must-visit place to take breathtaking photos. And if you want to relax while reading a book and having a drink, you can enjoy your “me time” on a sun deck, in the shade.

Lazy afternoons in the cabana- reading, resting, and soaking in the sunshine.
Early Dinner with a View at Fogo by Bekal
A perfect day in Poreč deserves a memorable ending, and we couldn’t choose better than an early dinner at Fogo by Bekal restaurant. Fogo by Bekal is a bold culinary project by renowned Zagreb chefs Tvrtko Šakota and Marko Turković, implemented in collaboration with Valamar. Situated at the Pical beach in Poreč, this restaurant channels its signature mastery of cooking over flame, but with a relaxed, Mediterranean atmosphere.

Choosing a dish at Fogo by Bekal restaurant is not an easy task, with all the specialities on the menu list.
It is a modern and stylish restaurant, known for quality cuisine and Istrian influence: it is intensely focused on local ingredients: istarski boškarin (a native Istrian cattle), truffles, and seasonal produce sourced from nearby family farms. Every dish at this restaurant is made with a lot of knowledge and, equally important, lots of love. We tried the exquisite beef tartare, fuži (Istrian homemade pasta) with truffle and a boškarin-based Bolognese-style fettuccine.
One of their most praised appetisers is the beef tartare, which comes with airy rice balls (crispy on the outside, light on the inside), enhanced with fresh summer truffle and served with warm homemade flatbread. Everything was so delicious, and the taste of the dishes was authentic. We can’t wait to come back and try some other specialities on the menu list.

End of the Day in Poreč
If you still have enough energy to make the most of late summer in Istria, we suggest a sunset stroll along the sea promenade or a nightcap in the Old Town of Poreč.
