3 New Year’s Resolutions for a Better 2023
Like most people at the end of the current year, you are probably contemplating all your decisions and making a conclusion whether you are satisfied with your achievements. Whether you are thrilled with the results or maybe still thinking that things could have been better, now you need to focus on what is yet to come. In other words, it’s time for fresh New Year’s resolutions, and we suggest a few that you will surely like (and that are totally achievable).
Take care of your diet and health
Did you know that the Mediterranean diet was chosen as the best diet, according to the US News & World Report in 2019? It was chosen in several categories such as the best fruit and vegetable based diet, the best diet for diabetics and the diet that is the easiest to stick to. If you ask the locals, they will unanimously agree that it is not just about the diet, but about the whole lifestyle. It is their elixir of youth and vitality! For those very reasons, consider introducing Mediterranean food into your daily routine. This kind of food include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, olive oil, fish, poultry and moderate amounts of red wine. Forget about refined sugar and flour, as well as fats like butter or sunflower oil. In addition to a healthy diet, learn to listen to your body and give it what it needs, more hours of sleep and rest, hydration, exercise…
Be active and work on yourself
Make a decision that will affect you as a person, an individual who is part of a bigger picture. Work on yourself to be a better person, a better friend, a better parent, a better partner, a better version of yourself… How to achieve that? There is no magical formula. It could be meditation, or quite the opposite, active exercise such as hiking and diving, or maybe learning a new skill, or gaining new knowledge.
Defeat yourself and run your first half marathon or marathon. Make a list of all the books you want to read in 2023. Sign up for a pottery course or drawing and painting classes. Have you been wanting to learn a new language for a long time? Now is the time to finally make it happen!
If you are afraid that you will not be persistent in putting your plans and desires into action, there is a solution. Let your loved ones and friends be your help and support because when your loved ones believe in you, things are immediately easier, right? And finally, remember, working on yourself is the best and most profitable investment in life, and being satisfied with your achievements is an unparalleled feeling!
Plan a trip – to the Croatian Adriatic!
Ah, to travel, to travel, to travel… Isn’t that everyone’s goal: to meet new people and places, learn more about other cultures, discover the unknown and at the end of the day get to know oneself? Sometimes we fantasize and dream about distant exotic destinations, but for an unforgettable and fulfilling holiday you do not need to go to the other side of the world.
If you are a fan of the sea and warmer regions, we recommend you put one true European gem on your travel list in the new year – the Croatian Adriatic! Discover picturesque coastal cities such as Poreč, Split, Zadar, Makarska or Dubrovnik, fall in love with beautiful Croatian islands such as Krk, Hvar, Vis, Korčula or Mljet, taste the diverse and delicious gastronomic offer, indulge in a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere and find unique places you will carry in your heart. Of course, beautiful beaches await on every corner.
One of the great advantages of the Adriatic Sea is the proximity of other interesting attractions in Croatia, often at your fingertips. So, for example, you can hop by car to the Istrian inland and visit the smallest town in the world, Hum. If you like cycling, Istria will especially delight you with its numerous bike routes. Also, you can easily plan a visit to beautiful national parks such as the Plitvice Lakes and Krka or maybe even go hiking on Velebit!
